UUPA

UUPA is an organization which is in its early stages of growth. Over the past few years, we became increasingly aware that a lot of people who think of themselves as polyamorous also identify themselves religiously as Unitarian Universalists. Some of us then created an e-mail list called UUPoly, for people who were both poly and UU and those who are interested in both. Out of our conversations on the UUPoly list came the idea that we should form a national organization of poly UUs to promote awareness and acceptance of polyamory within the Unitarian Universalist denomination, and introduce polyamorus people to the UU church. A bunch of us (about 20) got together at the Unitarian Universalist Association′s General Assembly in Nashville in June, 2000. There we agreed to move forward in the formation of UUPA.
